የኢትዮጵያ ገቢዎችና ጉምሩክ ባለሥልጣን ዘመናዊና በመረጃ ላይ የተመሠረተ የታክስ አስተዳደር ሥርዓት ለመገንባት እንዲያስችለው ታሳቢ በማድረስ ወደ ሥራ ያስገባው የሽያጭ መመዝገቢያ መሣሪያ ቁጥርና አገልገሎቱን የሚፈልጉት ግብር ከፋዮች ብዛት እየጨመረ መምጣቱን የባለሥልጣኑ የታክስ መረጃ አስተዳደር ዳይሬክቶሬት ያወጣው የዘጠኝ ወር ሪፖርት ይጠቁማል፡፡

እንደ ሪፖርቱ ከሆነ በአገር አቀፍ ደረጃ 62,750 ግብር ከፋዮች 69,385 የሽያጭ መመዝገቢያ መሣሪየዎችን ገዝተው እየተጠቀሙ እንደሚገኙ ተገልጿል፡፡

The use of sales register machine, which lend a hand to Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority in the bid to establish fair & modern tax administration system based on its genuinely spawn data has been increasing since its commencement.

እንደ ሪፖርቱ ከሆነ በአገር አቀፍ ደረጃ 59,473 ግብር ከፋዮች 66,106 የሽያጭ መመዝገቢያ መሣሪየዎችን ገዝተው እየተጠቀሙ እንደሚገኙ ተገልጿል፡፡ መሣሪያውን ገዝተው ወደ ሥራ ካስገቡት ግብር ከፋዮች መካከል 52,218 የሚሆኑት በአዲስ አበባና አካባቢዋ የሚገኙ ሲሆኑ 58,533 የሽያጭ መመዝገቢያ መሣሪያን ገዝተው ጥቅም ላይ ማዋላቸውም ታውቋል፡፡

According to the latest report from the plan performance & follow up directorate, the revenue collected in the last two months of the current fiscal year has an increase of 12% over the planned revenue in the stated period.

የባልስልጣኑ ዋና ዳይሬክተር አቶ መላኩ ፈንታ በውይይቱ ወቅት እንደገፁት ባለስልጣኑ ኢኮኖሚው ሊያመነጨው የሚችለውን ገቢ በተለይም ደግሞ ከአገር ውስጥ ሊገኝ የሚችለውን ገቢ ሙሉ በሙሉ በመሰብሰብ በዚህም የተጀመሩትን የልማት ውጥኖች በሙሉ  በላቀ ደረጃ ለማሳካት እያንዳንዱ አመራር አካልም ሆነ በየደረጃው የሚገኙ ፈፀሚ አካላት ቁልፍ ተግባራቸው ሊሆን እንደሚገባ ለአመራር አካላቱ አስገንዝበዋል፡፡

In the last fiscal year alone, the Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority (ERCA), has exempted tax over 28 billion birr for those eligible users of duty free privilege to boost trade and investment throughout the country. The amount exempted has an increase of 5.49 billion birr (23.9%) compared to corresponding period last year.

The Ethiopian Revenues and customs Authority (ERCA) has got through the government plan on aggregate during the outgoing fiscal year. The plan was stretched to collect 76.3 billion which was beyond what the government is hoped for about 70 billion.

According to Melaku Fenta, Director General of ERCA, the stated sum secured has an increase by 39.22 % compared to corresponding period last year. From the revenue collected, major portion of it goes to domestic tax (51.11%), foreign trade duty and tax comes second (48.75%) net profit of lottery sales took the rest.

The second Nation-Wide Tax Conference held at UNECA

The Second Nation-wide Tax Conference which was organized by the Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority (ERCA) held at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa hall on June 8-9, 2012.

Over 250 participants from Federal and Regional tax authorities, Universities, Chamber of Commerce, and delegates from regional state governments were attended the conference. The aim of the conference was to bring to light the overall constraints and obstacles in the development of the country's tax administration system for all stakeholders.

Over 41,111 Sales Register Machines are serving both the taxpayers and the Authority at the end of February.

For countries like Ethiopia, registering fast growth, sales register machine has paramount importance for its valuable contribution to collect tax based on evidence from the taxpayers. Thanks to James Jacob Ritty.

Among its tremendous usage, different tax authorities are using these machines to have compiled objective evidence, which is coming out of it, in order to determine the exact amount of tax payable to those authorities. This will in turn make the taxpayers to relay on those evidences.

ERCA collects revenue of over 5 billion birr in November

The Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority (ERCA) collected revenue of 5.5 billion birr from tax and nontax sources indicated ERCA's monthly report.

The revenue comes from a variety of sources. The most important sources include domestic tax, foreign trade tax and lottery. Customs duty and tax on foreign trade contributed 3.2 billion birr, followed by domestic tax 2.06 billion birr. The remainder of the revenue came from net profit of lottery sales.

ERCA warns car rental companies

The Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority (ERCA) warns car rental companies to collect adequate information from their customers before providing them with a leased vehicle. Failure to do so could result in the car rental company being held liable for any unlawful use of the vehicle by the customer. 

In a statement to the Education and Communication Directorate of ERCA, Ato Teklil Walga, from Akaki Kaliti Check-point, said that ''renters of cars are posing serious problem by putting the cars they have leased for unlawful purpose''.

The 20th Finance and Revenue Sector Discussion Forum held in Dire Dawa.

  Ministers and some higher officials from MOFED, Ethiopian Revenues & customs Authority (ERCA), Regional Revenues Authorities and Regional Finance bureau attended the 20th Finance and Revenue Sector Discussion Forum that was held in Dire Dawa on February 9-10, 2012.

In the discussion, it was agreed by all the participants that, ERCA"s role in the establishment of fair and equitable tax administration and harmonized tax system across the country have shown some improvement despite its bulk undertakings.
